Cotton-top tamarin
Classification | Habitat | Diet |
Primates > Callitrichidae | Rainforests | Omnivorous, including fruit, frogs, lizards, etc. |
The cotton-top tamarin has a white,
cotton-like fur on its head that makes it look like it is wearing a woolly hat.
This feature gives it the name 'cotton-top’.
They are very small, with a body length of 17 centimeters,
a tail length of 25 centimeters, and an average weight of 430 grams.
However, their call is similar to that of a bird
and can be heard from 200 meters away.
Even when they are fighting,
they will face each other and continue their calls.
